Colin Stanley, President

Colin Stanley

Colin Stanley is President of DOCS. He has over 14 years of experience working in the CRO industry. He joined ICON as a Project Manager in 2001 and has since held a range of positions of increasing responsibility. Since January 2011 Colin held the position of Chief Operating Offer for DOCS returning from Asia where he was Vice President of Clinical Operations, Asia Pacific with responsibility for all projects and staff in the region. Previous to this he was Director of Clinical Operations based in the US and in 2005 he led IMPROVE, a global Initiative focused on process improvement across all aspects of ICON’s business. He has also held various positions in Data Management including Head of Data Management, Europe. Colin started his career in Data Management at Quintiles. Colin holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology from Dublin City University. 

 

 

Stephen Cottrell, Vice President, Business Development, Europe/AsiaPac

Steve CotrellSteve is the Vice President, Business Development responsible for Europe and Asia Pacific regions for DOCS. His focus includes driving business growth in all service lines within DOCS, overseeing proposal development and he is part of the executive management team.

Steve holds over 23 years of experience in the heatlhcare industry with the last 9 years in the CRO and clinical resourcing indsutries. His experience includes leadership positions in sales, marketing and operations. Service line experience includes full and functional service offerings in clinical research, functional service provider models and contract staffing solutions. His responsibilities have included executive management within the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific markets.

 

Jim Calvin, Vice President, Operations, Americas

Jim CalvinJim holds the position of Vice President of Operations overseeing the U.S. Canada and Latin America for DOCS..

An experienced professional in the staffing and outsourcing fields, Jim has 18 years of experience in the areas of clinical research and life sciences. He joined DOCS to further develop the company’s presence in the human capital management and functional service space. Prior to joining DOCS, Jim founded and built a $35 million clinical research practice focusing in the areas of in and outsourcing, project based solutions and business functional outsourcing.

Jim has an extensive history of developing strategic client partnerships and lasting professional relationships with senior industry leaders while maintaining world class customer service. He is a results-oriented leader with experience in management, business development and operations in the global service sector.

Jim holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Finance and Economics from Widener University in Chester, Pennsylvania.
 

 

Paula Mumby, Vice President, Operations, Asia Pacific

Paula MumbyPaula holds the position of Vice President of Operations Asia Pacific overseeing DOCS expansion in this region.

Paula has over 18 years industry experience, working across the pharmaceutical, CRO, biotechnology and medical device companies in the UK and Asia Pacific with more than 10 years resourcing and staffing experience. Paula has been responsible for the set up and management of a team of professionals across Japan & APAC to provide clinical & medical resourcing solutions to clients within the industry. Based in Australia, Paula joined DOCS in February 2011 as Vice President, Operations, Asia Pacific. Prior to this Paula served as Vice President, Operations Japan & Asia Pacific for i3 for the last 5 years.

Paula’s qualifications include Registered Nurse and Masters in Business.
 

 

Barry Balfe, Vice President, Operations, Europe

Barry BalfeIn his current role as Vice-President, EU Operations at DOCS, Barry oversees operational delivery & planning activities within DOCS' pharmaceutical & medical device businesses.

Barry initially joined ICON's Business Development team in 2003, before taking on the leadership of DOCS’ US Business in early 2007.

Prior to joining ICON, Barry was a member of Quintiles' Pharmacovigilance and Regulatory Safety team with specific responsibility for the expedited reporting of EU SADRs to regulatory bodies.

Barry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry having studied at Dublin City University and Ecole Nationale Superieure de Chimie de Toulouse. He subsequently studied pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacovigilance at London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
