Tips on writing a resignation letter
- As a minimum, the resignation letter should be addressed to a specific person (normally your manager or someone within HR), the notice period you are giving and when this is effective from, together with your signature
- If you are leaving due to difficult working conditions, it is not a good idea to go into detail unless you are prepared to discuss the issue further. Some companies have exit interviews for just such events
- If you are leaving under good circumstances, then some words thanking your manager for opportunities given in your job would be appropriate.
