The DOCS leadership is comprised of key influencers and industry experts, bringing years of experience to the company.
Colin Stanley is President of DOCS, ICON’s Strategic Resourcing, and FSP service area. He is responsible for running the DOCS service area which comprises business development, recruitment and operational delivery units. His primary focus is to grow the DOCS business and establish DOCS’ position as a trusted partner of innovative Strategic Resourcing solutions to its global customers.
He has over 17 years of experience working in the CRO industry, joining ICON as a Project Manager in 2001. In ICON he worked in a diverse range of positions, enabling him to develop extensive operational, functional, and geographic expertise.
This included heading up ICON’s EU Data Management group and leading a global, cross divisional, process improvement initiative within ICON. He became Director of Clinical Operations based in the US before moving to Asia where he assumed the role of Vice President, Clinical Operations for Asia Pacific. Upon returning to the ICON HQ in Dublin he was promoted to Chief Operating Officer of DOCS, before taking on the role of group President.
Senior VP, Global Program Management
As Vice-President, Global Program Management, Barry oversees operational design, planning & delivery within DOCS’ resourcing & FSP businesses. He initially joined ICON’s Business Development team in 2003, before taking on the leadership of DOCS’ US Business in early 2007 and subsequently overseeing DOCs European Operations. He has since held a number of leadership positions within DOCS executive management team in the US and Europe.
Prior to joining ICON, Barry was a member of Quintiles’ Pharmacovigilance and Regulatory Safety team, focused on SADR detection & reporting. Barry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, having studied at Dublin City University and Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Toulouse. He subsequently studied pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacovigilance at London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, the University of London.
VP of Operations EMEA
Josée Paradis, Vice-President of Operations for EMEA, joined DOCS in January 2010. She was originally responsible for France, the UK and the Nordics, and in early 2011, added the rest of Europe to her territory prior to becoming VP in 2012.
Based in Paris, Josée has held international leadership roles in the scientific and clinical staffing and recruitment industry for more than 15 years where she has successfully launched and supported operations in North America, Europe, Australia and Singapore. Prior to joining the staffing industry, Josée spent 10 years in sales and BD roles in the life science sector. Josée’s academic background includes a B.Sc. followed by graduate studies in Molecular Biology at the University of Guelph in Canada.
VP of Operations APAC
As Vice President of Operations Asia Pacific, Paula oversees DOCS expansion in this region. Since 2011 she has been responsible for the set up and management of a team of professionals to provide clinical and medical resourcing solutions to industry clients within Japan and APAC.
Based in Australia, Paula has over 18 years of industry experience, working across pharmaceutical, CRO, biotechnology and medical device companies in the UK and Asia Pacific. She also has more than a decade of resourcing and staffing experience. Prior to her current position Paula served as Vice President, Operations Japan & Asia Pacific for i3.
Finance Business Partner
James Houlihan is responsible for financial and commercial aspects of the DOCS business. He joined the Executive Team in 2014 with a view to continuing the global expansion plans.
James has over 10 years within the CRO sector. Prior to joining DOCS, James held Finance Roles within Clinical Research Services, Laboratory Services and Data Management.
Prior to joining ICON in 2005 James held Finance positions within the retail and construction sectors.
James graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Liverpool John Moores University. He completed his articles with Grant Thornton and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
Head Business Development - Europe
Conor has 20 years industry experience, working across the pharmaceutical, CRO, biotechnology and medical device companies in the Ireland, Europe and the United States. Conor is responsible for the set up and management of a team of BD professionals across Europe to provide strategic functional clinical solutions to clients within the Pharma and Medical Devices industry.
Based in Dublin, Conor joined DOCS in 2015 as Head European Business Development. Prior to this Conor served as Global Head BD PRA Strategic Solutions, European Head of BD at RPS, and Sr. Director BD at ICON.
Head Business Development - America’s
Brian leads the Americas Business Development Team as they work to meet the resourcing needs of the biopharmaceutical and medical device industries. Since 1997, DOCS has been at the forefront in enabling sponsors to grow their development capacity through traditional contract staffing solutions, and now lead the industry in providing flexible strategic resourcing models such as Functional Service Provision (FSP). .
Previously, Brian brought his extensive experience in the establishment and operation of Strategic Partnership models to PAREXEL, where for three years he managed the BD activities for one of the company’s top three partner accounts.
Prior to joining PAREXEL, he spent nine years at Quintiles managing the Business Development teams for the Phase I, Clinical Pharmacology, and Cardiovascular Safety groups. Earlier in his time there, he was also responsible for the Global IVR Sales group, and was on the leadership team that launched Cenduit, a joint venture with Thermo Fisher for IVR services.
Brian’s career began in direct patient care as a cardiac catheterization technician and echocardiographer. He served as Administrative Director of Cardiology for Abington Memorial Hospital, a 500-bed teaching hospital, before becoming a technical representative for a top cardiac valve, pacemaker and defibrillator manufacturer.
Brian received a double bachelor’s degree in biology and philosophy from LaSalle University in Philadelphia, and received his Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Liverpool.
Corey has over fifteen years’ experience in the CRO industry with over a decade at Aptiv Solutions where he oversaw Global Biometrics. Corey received his B.Sc., degree from the University of Maryland College Park in Biology. He has performed various roles including Data Manager and Project Manager, as well as leading Global Data Management and Biostatistics teams.
In his current role Corey is responsible for DOCS Operations throughout the Americas. He is tasked with directing the performance of our FSPs, identification and implementation of key strategic initiatives, and ensuring the delivery of quality and value to sponsors.
Corey also serves as a Consultant to sponsors looking to deploy innovative strategic resource models with emerging technologies. His experienced use of complex technologies to facilitate successful program delivery has him speaking at industry conferences worldwide.
